Greeting

29th JACI 2025 President
Yoshiki Akatsuka
(Designated professor, Department of Immunology,
Nagoya University Graduate School of Medicine)
On behalf of the Japanese Association of Cancer Immunology (JACI), I am honored to welcome you for the 29th JACI Annual Meeting on July 24th-26th, 2025, at WINC AICH, Nagoya, Japan. The venue is conveniently located a five-minute walk from JR Nagoya Station, which is the entrance of Nagoya, Japan’s fourth-largest city, centrally positioned in the country. Nagoya’s history dates back to the Edo era, when a prominent branch of the Tokugawa family resided here. Fans of Japanese history might recognize the city’s significance from scenes depicted in the “SHOGUN”, the series that won 2024 Creative Arts Emmy Awards.
JACI was established in 1996 to advance the fundamental cancer immunotherapy and translational research activities. After JACI was formally incorporated, we focused on several tasks to advance the research abilities of the members. We would like to seek international collaboration for an annual meeting to be held in 2025. As a first attempt, we prepared an annual meeting website in English to enable overseas researchers to submit abstracts, join meetings in person (or virtually), and exchange information through active discussions. We will invite frontline researchers from overseas for most of the symposium and plan a sufficient timeframe for hot panel discussions to facilitate international interaction and global collaboration. We plan to feature collaborative keynote lectures delivered by speakers invited from both domestic and the US (Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer). We also plan to conduct at least three symposiums: 1) treatment of solid tumors with genetically modified immune cells, 2) cutting-edge technologies in spatial analysis and single-cell omics analysis, and 3) antibody-based cancer therapies. For beginners in cancer immunology, we have organized six educational lectures to take place prior to the main sessions. Finally, we warmly invite abstract submissions from domestic institutions and abroad.
As members of the program committee and congress office, we look forward to welcoming as many attendees as possible to an exciting and productive meeting. We hope you enjoy the event and take full advantage to engage with colleagues, foster new collaborations, and exchange ideas in Nagoya.
